Smart platform for automated generation of environmental reports

What is it and what is it used for?

It is a multi-agent web platform designed to facilitate the preparation of environmental reports. The system combines artificial intelligence, geospatial analysis, and knowledge retrieval to process technical documentation, consult regulatory information, analyze a project’s potential territorial impacts, and generate maps and structured content. It allows users to create and version templates, organize reports by section, and automatically produce a final, editable document. The platform supports both automated workflows and section-by-section review processes, ensuring that technical staff retain control over the generated content. Developed as part of the RETECHFOR project, the platform helps digitize and standardize the preparation of environmental reports and improve the use of available forestry, land-use, and administrative information.

The problem it solves

Preparing environmental reports requires locating, reviewing, and cross-checking large amounts of technical, regulatory, documentary, and cartographic information. A significant portion of the work consists of repetitive tasks: verifying land-use impacts, consulting protection zones, retrieving applicable regulations, preparing maps, organizing evidence, and drafting sections with a consistent structure. The dispersion of sources and the heterogeneity of the data also make traceability difficult and force technical staff to spend time manually integrating the information. Centralize and automate these tasks to generate a structured, reviewable first draft, allowing specialists to focus their efforts on analysis, environmental assessment, and decision-making.

“Fromthe Field to the Report: Artificial Intelligence and Environmental Knowledge to Support a More Agile and Traceable Assessment.”

What makes it innovative?

Multi-agent artificial intelligence connected to the local area and environmental knowledge

The platform integrates, within a single workflow, specialists in geospatial analysis, document research, content generation, cartographic production, review, and final report compilation. Unlike other assisted writing tools, it does not work solely with text: it combines project information with territorial databases, regulations, reference reports, and geographic layers to generate contextualized and traceable content. The platform allows users to configure and version templates, establish dependencies between sections, and choose between automatic generation and manual review. Artificial intelligence models can be run on a controlled infrastructure, promoting data privacy and sovereignty. The result is an environment adaptable to different procedures and types of environmental projects.

Expected impact

It will reduce the time spent on searches, verifications, and repetitive tasks during the preparation of environmental reports. The automation and standardization of the process will promote greater consistency in documentation, improve the traceability of the sources used, and facilitate the integration of regulatory, territorial, and cartographic information. The platform will also help increase case management capacity and reduce errors resulting from manual processes or scattered information. Its architecture, based on configurable templates, will allow the solution to be adapted to different types of projects and reports, driving the digitization of environmental administration and the use of data developed within the RETECHFOR ecosystem.
